Korg Chromatic Tuner
Korg Chromatic Tuner
Item number 2630177DM, $23.95

We've used Korg tuners since the mid-80s, and have never found a better brand. Korg brand tuners keep getting smaller, cheaper, and more accurate. We recommend this model as a great "travel-size" tuner. It will fit in most cases (it measures 2 1/2 by 4 inches, and is about 1/2 inch thick), and runs on two AAA batteries, which are included with your tuner purchase.

A built-in microphone makes for easy use with acoustic instruments, and a 1/4" input jack is great for use with guitars and basses. A unique feature to this model of tuner is the "calibrate" feature. This tuner defaults to "A-440", but can be adjusted to anywhere from A-410 to A-480. You can play any of the 12 pitches, and use your ear to match. This feature is ideal for intermediate and advanced players, as it provides an even more accurate method of tuning than the electronic display.

In all, we love the Korg tuners, and specifically think this model is a great deal for the money. Try it!

An external microphone makes it easy to tune in noisy environments - even when other people are playing around you. Just clip the microphone onto your instrument and plug it into the input jack on the tuner.
